Jayden is a tiger shifter. As a Carrier, he’s been on the run for most of his life. His own people murdered his family. He has no intention of trusting anyone. He can’t, not when just speaking to him can earn you a death sentence.
Jayden’s story is told in Biohazard.

Jayden’s Interview
(Jayden sits down across from me in the back room of the vampire, Nyx’s, bar. He looks a little nervous, and rubs his palms on his jeans.)
Honoria Ravena: Hi, Jayden. How you doing? What have you been up to?
Jayden: I’m a little nervous. I’m not used to being around humans, or answering questions that could get me caught.
HR: No one will find out where you are from this interview. Most of your kind already know about this bar anyway.
(He glances around and frowns): Yeah, I know. Weird to be settled in one place.
HR: Do you trust Nyx’s reputation to help keep you and your mate safe?
J: I trust that even if his reputation doesn’t keep us safe, he would fight by my side to the death to protect Maura. Laden, too. Laden is alright for a wereanimal.
HR: And Laden is the leader of the wereanimal resistance?
J: He’s one of the main leaders, yes. He mainly has werewolves under his command because he is a werewolf. He’s accepted me into his pack, even though I’m a shapeshifter, and a tiger, not a wolf. His pack is a little less trusting of me, but no one has tried to kill me yet.
HR: Are you going to join in their fight against the shapeshifters?
J: Yes. My people are committing genocide. I’m going to do everything in my power to help stop them.
HR: Tell me about your mate, Maura?
J: Well? What do you want to know? She’s perfect, from her head to her toes. She’s smart. Nyx, Laden and I are teaching her how to fight. Well, as much as we can. We don’t want to hurt the baby.
HR: Are you going to move out of Nyx’s place when the baby is born?
J: Probably. This bar isn’t exactly conducive to raising kids. I don’t want my baby seeing people shoot up in one corner and screw in another. But Nyx is having a house fixed up for us in the country. If a leaf blows across the grass its going to set the alarms off. Laden is going to have some of his most loyal people staying with us, and Nyx has convinced the king to have his Watchers stay if they’re in town for some reason. Maura thinks it’s too much protection, but I disagree.
HR: Do you like living above Nyx’s bar?
J: Yeah, it’s nice to have some friends to hang out with. It’s been a while since I’ve gotten to hang with the boys.
HR: Really? What do you guys do?
J: Guy stuff. Laden likes video games. I find them difficult, but fun. Nyx likes to do just about anything. I’ll usually hang out in the bar with them until they pick up women, and then I’ll go home to my Maura. Most of my time is spent with her, but she insists that I need guy time and space. She’s wrong, but I indulge her anyway. I never want to be away from her. I don’t need guy time. More then likely she needs to alone time, and space, and I’m just fine with that.
(I laugh): I expect you’re right. I need my alone time, too. So, you ready to wrap this interview up? Got anything else to add.
J: Nope, nothing to add. Gonna go see the mate now.
